Our pastures were formed on waterlogged, wooded and partly swampy areas with numerous running waters, which were assessed  to be unsuitable for conventional crop cultivation in agricultural terms. The idea of starting a unique enterprise dates back to the summer of 2014. We chose the headwaters of the Prosna and Stobrawa rivers, nearby Jamy in the Opole Voivodeship, as a location for founding a farm of the rare Highland Cattle breed, which live in the natural environment without human supervision. All interventions are limited to vet’s visits and ensuring that no-one or nothing disrupts the livestock’s natural daily cycle.

Our grazing lands amount to 50 ha at the moment, with over 120 animals in the herd, including foster cows, bulls, calves, beef bulls and heifers. Part of this land is used as meadows to prepare fodder for winter months – mainly dried hay.
